A cohesive exploration into the process of upcycling in through the lens of my brand, *Perceptions. Taking something "unwanted" and reframing it creatively through different contexts. The project was designed to be simple but thought provoking by exploring the power of branding. The patch in the middle is the placeholder of what could be a logo of sorts, which is one of the main factors in modern consumption.
Challenging this theory, I sought to create a garment that reflects new life, soul, and utility. Where the recontextualization shines through especially is within the photo shoot. To flip a garment into a new idea is one thing, but to tell the story is another. These photos add to the feelings and thoughts that drove this project, from the dirty floors, the broom, and the no garbage sign. The way an object is presented is just as important as the object itself.
